Archiving Policy

SYNAPSE – Journal of Healthcare Innovation & Future Technologies is committed to preserving its published scholarly record and ensuring that published articles remain accessible in the event of website or publisher disruption.

Digital Preservation

SYNAPSE will maintain redundant publisher backups and will enrol in a recognized long-term digital preservation service, such as CLOCKSS, LOCKSS, Portico, or the PKP Preservation Network, as compatible with the journal’s publishing platform.

The name of the preservation service will be displayed on the journal website only after enrolment is active.

At present, the publisher-ready information does not confirm an active enrolment with any specific preservation service; therefore, SYNAPSE will not claim membership in a particular service until it is confirmed.

DOI and Metadata Preservation

A DOI will be assigned to each published article through Crossref. Article metadata will be preserved with information including the title, authors, affiliations, ORCID iDs where supplied, abstract, keywords, references, funding information, licence, DOI, and publication dates.

Archived Content

The preservation arrangements will cover:

  • Final published article files.
  • Issue-level content.
  • Supplementary files.
  • Essential article metadata.
  • DOI and publication information.

These arrangements are intended to support continued access to the scholarly record in the event of prolonged website or publisher disruption.

Preservation Commitment

These are meant to ensure access to the scholarly record in case there is any disruption to the website or publisher.

SYNAPSE is committed to ensuring the integrity, authenticity, and accessibility of its scholarly record by means of publisher backup and digital preservation.

The journal will publish the name of the selected preservation service on its website upon formal enrollment in such a program.
